Yulee, FL - The Partnership for a Healthier Nassau provided the community an update of the 2019-2021 Nassau Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) at FSCJ Nassau Campus on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Seventy participants were in attendance to hear presentations related to the five strategic priority health issues including Access to Care, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse, Community Support, Health Disparities, Housing & Healthy Places.

Sixteen speakers spoke on a variety of topics ranging from infant mortality, teen vaping, suicide and overdose prevention, faith-based health education, to Age-Friendly Livable Communities, Western Nassau Heritage project, essential housing, and human trafficking. Those who attended were updated on the work of several organizations and collaboratives including Barnabas, Council on Aging, State Attorney Office/Nassau Drug Court, Starting Point, Nassau Behavioral Health Consortium, Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, Nassau Care Connect/RCORP, Nassau Polydrug Taskforce, Tobacco-Free Nassau, Nassau Age Friendly Advisory Council, Nassau Infant Mortality/Substance Exposed Newborn Prevention Taskforce, Essential Housing Advisory Committee and the Nassau County Health Improvement Coalition. Attendees were also able to obtain information from nonprofits such as Elder Source, Starting Point, Delores Barr Weaver Foundation – See the Girl, Women's Center of Jacksonville, North Florida HIDTA, North Florida Area Health Education Center, National Youth Advocate Program, Angel Watch, Florida Counterdrug Task Force, The Health Planning Council of NE Florida, and many others.
