Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program

WICBreastFeedingSupport

Breastfeeding is a normal part of mothers and babies being together. To get off to a good start, learn all you can about breastfeeding during your pregnancy.

The Nassau County WIC Program uses the USDA Loving Support Curriculum to provide breastfeeding promotion, education, and support to WIC clients.

Breastfeeding Peer Counselors contact WIC clients during pregnancy to provide breastfeeding education and answer questions.

After a baby is born, Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are available to provide breastfeeding support to new mothers for the duration of time they’re breastfeeding.
